'Til Death Do Us Part

We're ALIIIIIIIIVE! It's kind of embarrassing how little we blog these days. Miranda and I really tried to get together and take outfit pictures, but I had to borrow my sisters camera and she couldn't find the charger so it failed. Of course, when looked for the charger, I was able to find it immediately (stupid sister) and take some pictures of myself! Yay? Anyways, happy 2014! I think a solid resolution for us will be to blog a lot more. As you may or may not more, I'm going to school in Santa Cruz and Miranda's miles and miles away from me in SoCal. I haven't been able to take pictures really at school, though there's so many stylish people that I really should be snapping some "street" pics (another resolution?). Unfortunately, my camera charger ran away, so I have to buy a new one but as soon as I do, I will force my roommate to take pictures of me and I'll work up the courage to ask other people for pictures! The redwoods here are so beautiful so I need to get out there and get down to business! Don't you worry, though, Miranda and I will be blogging until death do us part!
Fun story about this awesome army green shirt. I went to Goodwill and my friend tried it on but it was too small on him so I stole it for myself! Pretty great $3 spend. Also, you can see it a little bit, I put some purple kool aid in my hair because that's what the kool kids do. And I bleached my tips again.

Gypsy Den

Guys I actually got dressed and took pictures! Claps for me, the laziest blogger in the world. It's finally time for summer: 100+ degree days, plenty of Thrifty ice cream trips, and plenty of lazy pool time. This summer, my only plans are to get a job (I have an interview next week, yay!) and prep my wardrobe for the chilly Santa Cruz months (college, wassup). Miranda and I have a photoshoot lined up, which I'm overly excited about. This is kind of a sneak peek, because all I want to wear is gypsy-ish stuff: flowy dresses, printed maxis, etc. Be prepared, because I bought clothes that I actually like, and I'm feeling inspired to actually blog about them!

I'm totally in love with the A Beautiful Mess app (only $0.99)! You can use filters, borders, doodles, texts and phrases to make your pics super cute.

Another summer goal is to stock up on hats. Even though I love this hat that Miranda gave me, I don't really think looking like Charlie Chaplin up top works for every outfit.

Starry Nights, City Lights

I really liked my outfit today, so I decided to put on some 6-inch heels and prance around my backyard like it was Paris fashion week. Y'know. I feel so bad for not putting up more outfit posts, but an outfit I like enough to post only comes along once in a blue moon these days. Senioritis has hit every aspect of my life, including getting dressed.

So, I kinda sorta think this shirt looks like a night sky...or just a shirt with way too many studs (I was told by my fashionista friend that studs were stupid, opening my eyes, because he obviously knows what fashion's about.........shut up, studs are hardcore!). (shirt from Urban Outfitters)These ankle-breaking, faceplant-enducing shoes have been worn a total of....drumroll please...ONCE in public (ahem, to prom, I might add, where they were thrown off approximately 3 minutes after entering the premises). I wish I could wear heels more often, because they're just so cute! But lezbereal, I could be eye-to-eye with Hagrid the second I put heels on. (shoes from Urban Outfitters...I think...)This baaaaaag, myguhhh. It's (of course) my sister's and I wish I could just stuff my entire life into it and carry it everywhere. Literally. (bag from Steinmart of all places!)

P.S. Shout-out to my girl Kate Moss for creating the prettiest, most yummy-smelling lipstick out there.

Sister, Sister

My favorite blogs lately just so happen to be those run by sisters. So, I decided to do a little homage of sorts because sisters are (err...can be) the absolute best. They have an entire closet of clothes you can borrow, they take pictures of you for your blog, and you can go to them/they can go to you for style advice (at least that's the case with our sisters). I've been playing with photoshop all day!
1. Natalie & Dylana Suarez: I've already proclaimed my intense love for these sisters. They each have separate blogs, but I pretty much worship them. They're both models, they have closets I totally envy beyond words, and they're just totally perfect. They both have edgy, unique styles that I srsly need to model mine after ASAP. (Natalie's blog, Dylana's blog)
2. The Beckerman Twins (+Chloe!): Antonio introduced my to their blog and now I'm in love. They're super kawaii and have a really really interesting, unique look. There's the twins Calianne and Samantha, their little sis Chloe, and even their stylish mama! They're basically the coolest family on the planet, look 'em up! (here)
3. Emma and Elsie: They do pretty much everything. They run A Beautiful Mess, which is, like it says, a beautiful mess of fashion, food, diy, and plain old beautiful living. They are adorably vintage-looking, but have very distinct styles. Nearly all of their fashion posts are called "Sister Style" and they're simply to-die-for.
Besides the bloggers, there's also plenty of celebrity sisters to totally lust over.
1. Rooney and Kate Mara: No, I did not see The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, but I more importantly saw all of the red carpet looks Rooney wore. I did, however, watch Season 1 of American Horror Story, where I totes fell in love with lil miss Kate. They both are just totally dreamy.
2. Dakota and Elle Fanning: I have a love/hate relationship with Dakota because she seems like a middle age soccer mom inside, but I guess it's that ~old soul~ everyone seems to like. Personalities aside, together they work every single designer item handed to them and it's so not fair that a 14 year old gets to be covered in Prada and I don't even own a little bottle of designer perfume, but no matter.
3. MKA (and E): You realllllly think I could make a post about sisters and/or icons without talking about the Olsens? HA. They are everything I want to be, and I will leave it at that.
Here's to my 'lil sister, whose closet I will deeply miss when I go off to college this fall. JUST KIDDING, I will seriously miss her!!!

Little Secrets

I don't really have any little secrets to share, I just really like the Passion Pit song. So, as I (sorta) promised, here is a post. I know I promised it before the new year, but close enough.
I literally sit around cutting out magazine pictures...can I do that for a living?
 Super rad unmade bed~
My uncle found this really pretty, awesome cabinet thing for me and sent it to me for Christmas!

I'm sure you're sufficiently bored with seeing my stupid, typical teenage bedroom whenever I decide to re-arrange it, and it may not be Teen Vogue Bedroom Story (or whatever!) ready, but I do what I want! I don't have an outfit post yet, but I do have some new goodies to show y'all:
 Nordstrom Rack, F21
 Both from Nordstrom Rack
 T-shirts from Nordstrom Rack
 Also from Nordstrom Rack
Rag & Bone sweater and another colorful gem, both from Target

On another note, I was planning on doing a ~best of 2k12~ post, but realized it was going to be super long and not all that great but here's a little list of what happened/my favorite things:
  • Favorite people: Jennifer Lawrence, Lizzie Olson, Martin Starr, Ezra Miller, Emma Watson, and Evan Peters (what a dream boat~)
  • Favorite movies: Silver Linings Playbook, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Les Mis, HUNGER GAMES, and I may or may not have cried during Breaking Dawn Part 2....
  • Favorite music: Imagine Dragons, No Doubt, Mumford & Sons
  • Shows I watched: The Office, Parks and Rec, Freaks and Geeks, Skins, Arrested Development, My So-Called Life (always)
  • Stuff that happened: Went to Coachella
          • Saw the Black Keys for the 1st time
          • Stood front row at Florence and the Machine, saw Emma Watson from like 10 ft. away, said "Happy birthday Emma!" and she said "Thank you, best birthday ever!" and melted~
          • Fell in love with Grouplove
        • Saw the Black Keys again with Tegan and Sara opening
        • Traveled all across the East Coast
        • Went to Canada for the first time
        • My padre was on The Ricky Lake show
        • I was a homecoming princess
        • I got my license and a car
  • Looking forward to: Kill Your Darlings, new Tegan & Sara, Catching Fire, and I turn 18 and graduate and start college holy poop....
Pretty sure this turned into a way for me to remember what happened to me this year...but happy new year, stay stylish!~*

Dec 27, 2012

Oh me oh my.

Worst bloggers of the year goes to us. Sorry we've been off the grid since, like, before Thanksgiving. Our New Year's resolution should be to blog more. We vow to post something very very soon. I, for one, have some very nice Neiman Marcus for Target pieces to show off, along with some adorable Modcloth dresses. I'm also feeling a little anxious to change up my style a bit, seeing as I've pretty much been wearing the same exact stuff everyday (I mean, I literally wear either the same striped sweater I borrowed from Miranda weeks ago or plaid flannel everytime I leave the house...). Anyways, I promise a post before the New Year (hopefully...don't hold that against me!)

Enjoy this picture from a failed outfit post.

P.S. Does anyone ever try to upload a picture then Blogger says your Picasa web album is full? It keeps doing that, and I don't know how to fix it without paying for extra storage or deleting too many posts. SOS. For now, some old posts will be deleted. RIP.

Class Act.

Despite the fact that I'm in a total fashion rut right now (umm, haven't gone thrifting and/or worn thrifted goods in like decades) this sort of outfit is my absolute favorite as of today. Sweaters plus button-downs equals pure perfection, so obviously that means I have to post about it. If Ellen DeGeneres can do it, so can you!
This style is just so classy and classic and it's like kinda sorta schoolgirl chic but also super menswear chic!
Girlies, y'all look darn good when you wear this. Embrace masculinity, it's seriously one of the funnest styles!
Seriously tho, this style is so simple and cute! It's also unisex, and those boys look darn cute in it, too!
Basically I love this. duh. Perfect fall outfit.

 Deets deets deets!
Plaid top: F21
Sweater: Pacsun
Shoes: Maurice's ($10 boots, um hi.)
Bracelets: Miranda's (D'AWWWWWWW)
Vomit pink lipstick: I don't even remember I just L O V E the color.
P.S. Lezbehonest Olivia was pretty much my whole inspiration for this post and we talked about this style for a solid 7 minutes.
P.S.S. Just finished My So-Called Life again. Bawwwwling.

It's just a bunch of hocus pocus!

Ahh, it's that time of year again. There's a cool, crisp wind in the air, sweaters fill our closets, and pumpkin spice lattes are in our bellies. But, more importantly, we are awaiting Halloween. We don't have plans or costumes yet, but that doesn't mean this isn't the greatest holiday ever (after Christmas, duh). We are certain that this month has been full of Hocus Pocus, candy corn, and the best, spookiest vibes in the air.

P.S. On an irrelevant but totally important note, I am re-watching My So-Called Life and I've once again developed the desire to clean out my closet and replace my entire wardrobe with oversize flannels are colored overalls. And I mean that in the most positive of ways.
