Gifted Gems.

As best friends/blogging ~coworkers~, of course we have to give each other super rad Christmas presents. These are Miranda's gifts from moi.

And a not-as-adorable picture I-took-this-at-the-last-minute-because-I'm-in-Idaho picture of what Miranda gave me! (one day we'll live together so we can actually have pictures that look somewhat relevant to each other!)

In the Closet.

This post is dedicated to all of our fellow OCD, thrifty fashion bloggers: how to organize all of your vintage and thrifted gems. Those of us who don't get out much (ahem) organize our closets more frequently than necessary. It helps to: A. Makes you realize you have more clothes than you actually think you do, B. See all said clothes at once without risking a volcanic explosion onto your florr and C. Fulfill all of your OCD needs. This is an exclusive look inside my closet (that just makes me sound so important!) and how I organize it.
On one side of my closet, I have the frequently worn/winter-y clothes section. These are organized by both "type" and colour, because I just have that much time on my hands. (quite small because I rarely have adequate cold weather clothes...)
And squished on the other side are all my summery clothes that go on for years. (the perks of living in So-cal...) This, on the other hand, is only organized by type.
And the most important items, the shoes. If you're unable to/too lazy to (heh) invest in a shoe rack, throw 'em on the ground!
And lastly, coming out of the closet (so punny!) the holy trinity of command hooks. Really, though, once you buy one command hook you can't stop. Let them become your best friend.

2 Broke Bloggers

Two girls live in a chilly studio apartment in the Big Apple. They're broke and basically live in sweaters during fall/winter. Candles line every square inch of the floor, shelves and atop stacks of fashion magazines. They sit around listening to music, drinking coffee, and being altogether ~cool~.
They spend their days hanging in their apartment, scrolling through Tumblr blogs or out scouring the city looking for inspiration.
They spend their time in their apartment getting the perfect outfit and taking charming Urban Outfitters-esque pictures.
Basically? Our future.
On Shelby:

On Miranda:

On Miranda:

 Most items thrifted.

Goodwill's Gems.

So this past weekend, we went thrifting (I  mean really, what else is there to do?). Our local thrift shops (including Goodwill and other local treasures) had a little thing where they drove you around in a limo to all the shops, which each had adorable finger food (so Marie Antoinette...) and their vintage gems. We opted to walk and loaded up on the goods.
On a super sentimental, oh-so-touching note, we stopped at Daphne's beforehand and Miranda tried Greek food for the first time! D'awwwww.
Our friends Julianne and Antonio (who ran away from the camera at every chance) tagged along.
The ~hauls~
And, of course, we turned it into a video opportunity.

Long Beach Antique Market.

For once, we're not talking about the Rose Bowl. Turns out there's other flea markets...like the Long Beach Antique Market! On the 3rd Sunday of every month, you can mosey on down to Veterans Stadium to check out the clothes, furniture and knick-knacks. It's even known to have celebrity sightings. (Corey from LA Ink, holla!)

It's a but pricey, but truly vintage. If you want furniture, it's the place to go. If you want useless knick-knacks that are cool in probably your mind only, it's the place to go. If you're young and want cheap clohtes, maybe not. But, it's still a fun experience and a darn tootin' good market.

Sweater Weather

If you didn't already know, we love sweaters. Any kind will work; cableknit, granny, graphic, thrashed, cropped, striped. Thankfully we live in Southern California where the locals bust out their dusty winter overcoats when it hits 65° F thus giving us the opportunity to wear whatever sweater we want without the “aren’t you hot?” ’s and obsess over the sweaters we want need…
